The Beaver Ridge Parent's Day Out & Preschool program began as a vision in September of 1963, and the first Preschool committee was formed.  In November 1963 the first class was held with Mrs. Fred Coker serving as the first director with twenty five children enrolled.  In 1974 a decrease in students was seen due to the fact that Kindergarten classes began and early childhood education decreased.  In 1983 we began to see a steady increase in enrollment for both three and four year old children, and in 1992 and 1994 an additional classrooms were added for a total of 70 children enrolled. In 2003 Beaver Ridge Preschool celebrated its 40 birthday with Lisa MacIndoe as director.  In 2004 the new Family Life Center was built and preschool moved into the new classrooms they are in today.  We celebrated our 50 years in 2013; some of our guests that evening were the very first students that had attended BRUMC Preschool, and some of those students' children currently work in classrooms here today.  The current director, Vicki Davenport, became the program director in 2012, and during her time we have implemented monthly chapel time with the pastor of the church in 2014 and the children were taught about the Fruits of the Spirits.  We do see the children as God’s Fruit, to be nourished and developed in HIS Love!

We are very proud of our program and its accomplishments.  None of this would be possible without the support of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church, our staff, and of course you the parents who entrust us with your children.  Our goal is that your child will develop with each level of our program from the one year old class through the 5 year old Pre-K class.   We believe that each child is an individual and have their own personalities that help them develop into our future leaders.
